KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 2013 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wants the Terengganu Umno to strengthen its solidarity and serve the people better since the Barisan Nasional's (BN) has been given the mandate once again in the just concluded 13th general election.
Najib, who is also Umno President and BN chairman stressed the need during an almost two-hour meeting with the 17 Umno elected representatives from Terengganu at the Umno headquarters in Putra World Trade Centre, here, Thursday night.
"The prime minister asked us to unite and give the best service to the party so that the next time around we get to wrest back the seats that we lost," Terengganu BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Said told reporters after the meeting.
BN was returned to power with a simple majority in Terengganu after winning 17 of the 32 state seats.
To a question whether the issue of the appointment of menteri besar was discussed at the meeting, Ahmad said no.
However, he said, the Terengganu menteri besar's swearing in ceremony would be held together with the appointment of the state executive council in two or three days.
